Rob Zombie Shot FOUR hours of footage for Halloween II?

I saw somewhere Rob Zombie shot four hours of footage for his sequel
to his remake of Halloween. The original runtime was apparently four
hours, and he shot about that much footage.

Can someone back this up with sources?
